Through its foundation, the Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva awarded $82,500 in grants to 15 local non-profits in Lee County whose missions mirror Zonta’s own: empowering women and girls.
The Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva is renowned for its annual home tour, “Peek at the Unique.” Based at the Sanibel Community Church and set for Saturday, March 13, this year’s pandemic-observant event will take place largely online.
Zonta’s 2020 grant funds support Community Housing and Resources (CHR), whose mission is to provide affordable housing for families and individuals who work in and serve the community of Sanibel.
Zonta’s 2020 grant funds have been used by Dress for Success for the Women Empowered Through Employment Series (WETES) and the Entrepreneurial Spirit Program (E$P).
Zonta 2020 grant funds helped support the Dr. Piper Center’s Foster Grandparents Program, which creatively links these low-income elderly and children with special needs aged 4-17.
