2020 Zonta ManiCure

For more than 30 years, the award-winning Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva has provided service, advocacy, and funding on Sanibel and Captiva Islands, in Lee County, and globally through Zonta International.

Since our beginnings in 1987, the Zonta mission to empower women has guided operations and activities, especially on service connections and on which local projects we support.  All club members are also members of the Zonta Foundation of Southwest Florida, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3), established to raise and distribute funds to organizations that empower women. For the 2019-2020 grants cycle, we supported 16 grantees and we gave 1 support award.

Our nearly 70 members give generously of their time to hands-on service, logging hundreds of hours each year.  The club is a leader within District 11 (comprising over 40 clubs in the American southeast), and is recognized at the global level as a major contributor to Zonta International projects.  During the era of the prestigious District 11 Governor’s Cup, which recognized excellence in service, advocacy, fundraising, and member relations, the club received the cup numerous times.

The club values friendship, collaboration and drawing on members’ unique talents and experiences.  If you live or work on Sanibel or Captiva, and support Zonta’s ideals, please consider joining us. We encourage all ages and have a Young Professionals category with reduced annual dues.

“If one girl with courage is a revolution, imagine what feats we can achieve together.”

Join us for a meeting

We invite you to join us for a Zonta Sanibel-Captiva meeting to learn more about who we are and what we do. Our Sanibel meetings are usually on the first and third Wednesday of each month beginning at 8:00 AM.

Meetings can also be attended via Zoom.

“I thrive working together with strong, talented, committed women toward a common goal. Every project I work on, I learn something new.  I would not be who I am today, had I not been a Zontian for 17 years. ”
“Zonta fulfills my soul and my ego. I love knowing like-minded folks from around the world and being able to work collaboratively on so many things: shared ideas, advocacy, convention, etc.”
“Shortly after retiring and moving to Sanibel, I was invited in 2002 to a Zonta Meeting. I found a room full of amazing women, many of whom have become lifelong friends, and found a new purpose.”
“I feel blessed to have found this group and these women. Together we have helped woman both in our community and around the world.”
