Dan Hahn and Kevin Vertesch, co-owners of Dan Hahn Custom Builders, Inc., are expected to serve as presenters. Having lived and worked on Sanibel for many years, they have forged long-term relationships with clients, employees, subcontractors and suppliers, as well as city, county and state permitting agencies. The firm is a premier builder of custom, high quality homes and creator of beautiful and functional remodels of interior and outdoor living spaces.
John Grey Painting has been family-owned and operated in the Fort Myers area for 50 years. Representatives describe the firm as obsessed with providing a total quality experience. Beyond painting “everything that doesn’t move,” their full range of services includes installation and renovation of kitchen and bathroom cabinets and floors; installation and repair of decks, stairs and rails; and refacing of existing cabinets. The firm also offers specialty coatings, decorative faux finishes and murals, and removal or repair of popcorn ceilings. A color consultant is available to assist customers in choosing styles and colors, all drawn from the highest quality, environmentally friendly products.
Established on Sanibel in 1975, VIP is now one of the largest privately-owned, full-service real estate companies in the area, and Sanibel’s leader for the past 16 years with a 2021 market share of 20 percent. Presenter will be CEO Jim Hall, CRS, CRB, GRI. Educated at Boston College and Harvard University, he moved to Sanibel in 1989 and in 1991 was chosen Sanibel-Captiva Realtor-Associate of the Year from among 350 members. He was President of the Sanibel-Captiva Association of Realtors and their Realtor of the Year in 2010. Jim and his wife Karen have three children. Ms. Olmstead, a Fort Myers native, holds a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from Clemson University. She is active with the Florida Association of Landscape Architecture and says her designs are inspired by our coastal tropical vegetation. Mr. Walsh, who earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Alabama, has worked in every facet of the family business.
For 19 years, the Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva was proud to present “Peek at the Unique,” the annual home tour of extraordinary homes on Sanibel and Captiva islands. You may have supported the tour and other events during those years, and we thank you for your generous support.
The pandemic forced a hiatus for the tour in March 2020, and since then Zonta has created several alternatives to continue raising money for causes that improve women’s lives. The original “Peek” enabled us to distribute over $1.1 million to area non-profits whose mission mirrors Zonta’s own—empowering women.
Our new concept for 2022 is “Peek at the Unique Home Trends,” set for Saturday, March 19 at the Sanibel Community House.
Special thanks to the many sponsors and supporters who have helped us raise over $1 million for community non-profits via the “Peek at the Unique.”
They say it “takes a village”. That is most certainly the case with Zonta San-Cap’s fundraising efforts, where each and every member of our club works tirelessly to raise money in support of empowering women.
Proceeds from our annual fundraiser are distributed through the Zonta Foundation of Southwest Florida to organizations that work to improve the lives of women and girls.
