Calling non-profits in the region whose work helps to empower women! The Zonta Foundation of Southwest Florida, the non-profit arm of the Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva, is seeking applications from 501(c)(3) organizations in Lee County and Southwest Florida for a 2021 grant.
The mission of Zonta International is to empower women and girls through service, advocacy and funding. To this end, Zonta focuses on education, economic self-sufficiency, safety and health for women and girls. Successful applications will be based in one or more of these aspects of empowering women; they will also be specific, with measurable outcomes.
Zonta has announced that, to streamline and simplify the grants process, there will be just a single application this year. Grants co-chair Pam Eccles commented: “We anticipate that this year there will be even more local need due to COVID-19 and we will have some tough decisions to make in our awards. We encourage past grant recipients to build upon their successes and work together when possible.” The grant cycle begins now, with distribution of grants in January, 2021.
The deadline for completed applications is September 15, 2020. Applications will be screened and will move forward based on meeting certain criteria. Please note:
- Since Zonta is non-sectarian, applications from organizations with a faith-based or religious connection are not eligible;
- Submitting an application does NOT ensure that the organization will automatically receive funding in the 2021 grant cycle;
- Successful applicants will be expected to work collaboratively as needed with a liaison from Zonta.
To download an application, please visit www.zontasancap.com and find the link on the Home page. Email the completed application to [email protected], as well as to Grants Committee co-chairs Marianne Ravenna ([email protected]) and Pam Eccles ([email protected]).
