Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva
Founded in 1987, the Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva is a high-achieving, award-winning club providing hands-on assistance, advocacy and funding to strengthen women’s lives on the islands, in Lee County, and around the world through Zonta International. With 65-70 members, 9 grant partners, 7 service projects and one fabulous fundraiser (A Peek at the Unique), we offer members opportunities across many activities.
We have an extraordinary record for fund-raising: grant awards to non-profit initiatives that help women during 2003-2014 exceeded $625,000. In addition, our members give time to hands-on service and advocacy. Our efforts have been recognized regionally: Our club has won or been nominated for the prestigious Zonta District 11 Governor's Cup almost every year since 2005, awarded in recognition of a club that has "exemplified the ideals and objectives of Zonta International.” This award puts us at the forefront of the 40-plus clubs in the district.
Professionals, entrepreneurs and community leaders who live and/or work on the islands and support the mission of Zonta are eligible for membership. Breakfast meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month; to learn more, please Contact Us.
